Star Wars Celebration VI - The Condensed Version

Star Wars Celebration VI was just fantastic.  It's perfect for any Star Wars fan (except the poor kind), and it's a really good primer for going to something like Comic-Con.  I say that because you really have to pick and choose what you want to do, and you have to sacrifice some things for other things.  For example, I had to sacrifice some really interesting fan panels to go to panels that involved the guests.  And even then I had to sacrifice some of those for other guests!  So I'm just gonna go through the list I made of things I did at the con, and I'll have pics at the end to share!  Want an explanation on something more thoroughly?  Just ask!  I'd rather recap in podcast form, but unless I have a co-host, I think it would sound kinda lame.  Here we go:

Shane Helms is THE MAN!

I just want to let everyone know (as if you really needed further proof) that Shane Helms is THE MAN!  I don't know what happened, but I ordered a Vertebreaker shirt back in March, and it still hadn't arrived as of last week.  I sent THE MAN a friendly e-mail just asking about it, as I assume that his operation is run by himself and a few others at most.  I know he's been through a bit the last couple months, with a new kid on the way among some other things, so I was really just curious as to what was up more so than upset about this matter at all.  I come back from vacation and check my mail today to get a package.  I opened it up and found this.

That's right, not only the t-shirt, but a PERSONALLY autographed 8X10 from THE MAN himself!  This was totally unnecessary and I am extremely thankful!  I might have been lethargic from the weekend trip, but this certainly perked me right up!

So extreme thanks go out to Shane Helms.  Keep healing up, and if LLUSA ever comes around Tampa or Orlando, you can bet your ass I'll be there!

Been a tad bit busy the last couple of weeks.  Hell, I'm still busy, but I don't want to hold off much longer.  Also the server I'm working on for class is down, so I've gotta do something productive, right?  It helps that there was no Naruto one week and then no One Piece this week.  I'll still pick two winners though, one for each week.

Also, in some semi-anime related news, I'll be at Supercon in Miami all weekend, hopefully having a good time.  Come say hi and junk!

Alright.  Gonna try a slightly new (well, probably old, and the way I used to do it.  I don't remember.) format.  I'm probably still going to write these at the 11th hour, knowing me, but I'm going to actually read them first only writing the most basic of points  Then I'll write what I remember and only go back to pick up some details.  This way they'll be shorter, and actually the parts worth remembering, right?  I still plan on going through the end of the year.  We need an ultimate champion!

Not a terrible week, but I've seen better.  Also, more Gantz, and screw proofreading this time, I'm tired.

Week 13!  Friday the 13th is this week as well... totally didn't plan that.

No One Piece this week, which honestly probably gives one of the others a chance to catch up a little.  I think these comics have been in a bit of a dry spell though.  Not that the stories are bad; I'm enjoying them and all.  Just nothing has put me on the edge of my seat that much these last couple of weeks.

Also, if I remember to read it, we see what the hell Link was up to in D.Gray-man next week.

Road to Wrestlemania

So tonight I had the pleasure of attending a WWE House Show.  I tried to get some of you to go, but you all had mostly legit excuses, so I don't blame you.  I won tickets and a swag bag from a radio station promo so I had 5 extra tickets total; one next to me and 4 halfway up Section 221.  I expected this arena to be the size of the Sun Dome maybe, so I thought the 221's were gonna suck.  However, those who saw my twitpic earlier, can tell that the arena was about the size of a high school gym... so those tickets weren't bad at all.  Luckily, I knew some coworkers that were going, and they graciously allowed me to sit with them two rows down (which you can see in the twitpic), so I wasn't forever alone at this thing.  So, it's a shame you guys had to miss it, but I'll briefly (those who read my other posts know I mean briefly) go over the matches tonight.  Overall it was a good show, and I'm glad I went.  Especially since this is probably the only way I'll ever be on the floor for a WWE show.  I was expecting a little more variety out of the matches, but still, overall not bad.

Sorry, this one's not gonna have any pictures or any huge summaries.  I am SWAMPED this week.  On top of school work I've been moving into a new apartment this whole week, trying to use almost every free minute I have packing and moving.  It's very taxing, but I wanted to at least score it this week.

Alright... on to Week 2!  There's week was definitely better than last week on the whole.

Bleach is taking a three week break... hopefully so Kubo can think of some better ideas or GTFO.  Or, as a much better idea, continue and finish Zombie Powder (who am I kidding?)  Will it catch up to the rest this year?  Time will tell.

Weekly Jump Off 1

 
So, I've had this idea for a bit now, since I still faithfully read 4 titles of the Weekly Shonen Jump, and usually talk manga briefly with friends on a semi-weekly basis.  I was going to briefly summarize them (in probably the worst ways possible) and then have a totally baseless contest to say who my "winner" of the week is for whatever reason that I feel fit.  Usually it'll be some badass,  Shonen-type moment that'll push me over the edge.  Maybe my favorite character will get a lot of action that week, who knows!?  I'll also throw in a fancy* collage for each one. And maybe I'll have an overall monthly/yearly winner... something fun.

This can be all up for debate, as well!  I can tell you why you're wrong!  It'll be fun!

I'm also current with Gantz and D.Gray-man, so I might add those as bonus chapters when they come around, as they are more sporadic.  And if I can get enough focus, I'll work on getting current with Toriko and up to Jojolion.  We'll cross that bridge when we get there, though.

But remember one thing before you venture forward... SPOILERS!!!!!

Welcome to the new year.

Look!  I started a new blog.  I'm sure Blogger isn't hip with you young kids now, but it's simple and effective.  I plan to get my own website soon, and I have a few names available that I might want to use, but I'm still deciding on what I want.

The drinks were consumed,
the plants were destroyed,
and the hors d'oeuvres dismantled.

2012 is going to be big for me.  Well, at least January will!  I'm going back to school, moving somewhere (completely on my own), and allegedly moving on up in my career.  Can I juggle all of these things at once and keep my sanity?  Stay tuned and find out.
